About this course

Take your first step into the world of maritime rescue with our five-day introductory SAR course in London. Designed for those looking to begin a career or volunteer in the Search and Rescue sector, this hands-on program gives you the essential skills and confidence to save lives safely and effectively.

Across five immersive days, you’ll complete Emergency First Aid , gain certified boating experience through the RYA Powerboat Level 2 qualification, and dive into our unique SAR Fundamentals module — developed and delivered by experienced rescue professionals.

You’ll learn the techniques, decision-making, and teamwork needed to keep yourself and others safe in real-life rescue scenarios.

Whether you’re preparing to join a professional rescue service, volunteer in humanitarian operations, or simply want to learn how to respond in emergencies on the water, this course gives you a holistic introduction to maritime Search and Rescue — built on real-world expertise and international best practice.

Using the International Maritime Rescue Federation Rescue Boat Operative program as a baseline, this course also has components developed by our crew’s diverse and extensive experience in the SAR world.

It has been tested intensively in adverse conditions, but our Royal Docks location in London enables you to learn in a safe, controlled environment.
