RYA Powerboat Level 2 Course

About this course

This entry-level course provides the skills and background knowledge needed to drive a powerboat. The course focuses on: low-speed close quarters handling; man overboard recovery; an introduction to driving at planing speed; and collision regulation.

It is the most popular course within the Royal Yachting Association (RYA) Powerboat Scheme as it introduces people to power-boating in close quarters but also at high speed. The certificate issued will be endorsed to show the type of boat in which the training took place.
