About this course
Are you interested in studying medicine? Do you want to know what it is like working as a medic or doctor or emergency responder? Come learn about these topics from experts in various medical fields, all while earning an advanced first aid qualification.
This 5 day course will provide you with an HSE recognised First Aid at Work certification (valid for 3 years) and let you hear lectures and workshops from doctors, medics, paramedics and others working in the field of emergency medicine and humanitarian rescue.
Each day offers a part of the AP Casualty Care Qualification, along with a one hour workshop or lecture given by a medical professional working in diverse sectors of the emergency and medical services.
Our healthcare experts will share the paths that have led them everywhere from NHS A&E departments to the far reaches of the world delivering emergency care.
Learn about what it’s like to work in such high pressure but rewarding environments, discuss which training or university programs are relevant to your interests, or which medical career options may suit you best.
In addition to looking great on your applications for further study, this course will give you an honest and true reflection of what is required to work in a fast paced and stressful environment. *You must be 16 years of age by the start date of the course.
Parent of 2023 Participant: ‘The course was designed for 16 and 17 year olds that are interested in pursuing medicine related subjects. Not only did they get some really great training in Casualty Care/first aid, they also received some really inspiring talks including the founder of the charity and medical professionals.
This was just one of the many courses that they run to inspire young people into search & rescue and drowning prevention.
